An amazing natural wonder, the Gouffre de Padirac started as a huge sinkhole that revealed an underground network of caves and rivers. You start by descending a 400+ step staircase (or take the elevator) down into the sinkhole, then walk down into a lengthy cave. In the middle of the trip you get into a boat and your guide paddles you down the river to another dock. Walk further into the cave to see huge galleries, stalactites, pools, and other wonders.
The cave is pretty popular, so you might want to buy tickets in advance: you can buy them off their website for specific entry times.
